5 good reasons to remodel your kitchen this year.

ARK Construction is considered one of Middle Tennessee's premier kitchen remodeling contractors. So we get a lot of calls from people like you asking us, "When should I start thinking about remodeling my kitchen?" Here are 5 good reasons to start your kitchen remodel this year with ARK Construction.

1. You've outgrown your current kitchen.

Maybe your family is growing, or your aging parent has moved in with you. Maybe you live in an older home and your kitchen is on the small side. Maybe you had dinner at neighbor's house, and you really like the layout of their new kitchen. All of those are good reasons to contact ARK Construction to talk about your kitchen remodel project.

2. Your kitchen is outdated.

If you've owned your home for more than a decade and you haven't updated it, you may feel a little self conscious, especially if some of your neighbors have remodeled their kitchens. Don't worry. You're not alone. We have plenty of clients who felt the same way when they first came to us. Consider it motivation to get moving on your kitchen. The good news is the dedicated staff at ARK Construction can show you a variety of matierals and designs that work within your budget and design tastes.

3. You want to increase the value of your home.

You might be thinking about selling your home or just want to make sure your home gets top dollar if you decide to sell it in the future. If that's the case, our professionals can work with you to show you the most popular trends in kitchen and cabinet design.

4. Your kitchen doesn't meet your functional needs.

Some of our clients come to us becausee their kitchens just don't work for their lifestyles. It might be that there is not enough storage space for them. It could be that they've always wanted an eat in kitchen, but their current layout doesn't allow for it. Sometimes mom wants to be able to keep an eye on her kids while she's making lunch for them, but there is a wall blocking her view of the family room. In all these caes, an ARK Construction expert can help create a more functional and pleasing kitchen floorplan that works better for your family's needs.

5. You want a better space for your growing culinary skills.

With the growing popularity of home improvement and cooking shows on cable TV,  homeowners in Middle Tennessee have taken an interest in their kitchens like never before. Usually that means they want more kitchen space and higher end appliances. The professionals at ARK Construction can help you redesign your space in a way that honors your love of cooking.

Whatever your reason for wanting to remodel your kitchen, ARK Construction can help. In addition to kitchen remodels, ARK Construction also does in-home remodeling, exterior remodeling, custom home remodeling, gutter cleaning, upkeep on home siding and home improvement projects.  ARK Construction is family-owned for over 20 years, and serves Nashville and the surrounding area, including Stewart, Montgomery, Robertson, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson and Williamson.

New Roof from ARK Construction

Spring is the perfect time of year to do your outdoor home remodeling, especially anything up high.  With the icy and slippery months behind us, the contractors at ARK Construction compiled this list of common roofing materials and the benefits and drawbacks of each to help you pick the right new roof this Spring.

1.     Asphalt Shingle Roof.  By far the most popular roofing material, asphalt shingles are cheap, easy to install, and durable.  However, asphalt shingles aren’t great insulators and have a shorter lifespan than most roofing material.
2.     Wood Shingle Roof.  Wood shingles come in a variety of styles and types of wood.  Although highly durable and aesthetically pleasing, wood shingles are also highly flammable, so if you’re in an area that’s high risk for forest fires, we don’t recommend this type of roof.
3.     Clay Shingle Roof or Concrete Shingle Roof.  On the flip side of wood, clay and concrete tiles are non flammable, and highly durable.  They can come in a variety of styles and colors and also reflect the sun’s rays.  The most protective roofing material, tiles are also the heaviest, and may require additional framing to support the added weight to your roof. Make sure you check with your house’s contractor as well as a roofing contractor before deciding on clay or concrete tiles.
4.     Metal Roof.  Metal roofs are very popular with new homes and businesses.  They reflect the sun’s heat, making them ideal for bright locations.  They also often last twice as long as wood or asphalt.  A bit on the pricey side, we believe the longevity factor more than makes up for the added cost.

If your roof is over 20 years old, chances are it might be time for a change.

ARK Construction specializes in shingle roof, pvc roof, and metal roof installation and roof repair.  We even offer emergency roof repair for people in need of a quick fix.

In addition to roofing, ARK Construction also does in homeremodeling, home improvement, exterior home remodeling, custom home remodeling, and home improvement.   We also cleangutters, do upkeep on home siding, and design and install custom home exteriors.
